I think I need to put a widget on the front page, doing something like a "wildcard search of the day" for a little browser game. Yesterday, we had entirely too much fun with a group of kids, searching for "fractal /insert your word/" in picture searches. Fractal hands, fractal houses, fractal tree, fractal life (ahem).

So the idea is to type your word into a prepared wildcard search. Site visitors can also suggest future searches, or browse past searches. This can be a fun little activity to do during a math club break.



Possible features:
- a gallery of old searches, by date
- an initial word in the wildcard "window" (like we have "cat" in MathLexicon) - a word that produces something interesting, like "fractal hand" above
- a button to submit good searches (and, correspondingly, the place to show whose search it was if it's accepted)

Here's a party trick for over Christmas. Get 4 large shiny Christmas balls, some coloured wrapping paper, some lights from the Christmas tree, and you have you own fractal laboratory to amuse yourself with over the festive season.
